girl, i love the way you walk and judging by your lips i think i’d like your talk your flagpole swagger swings against your arms and your accidental winking advertises your charm girl, i love the way you move fluid was your pupil learning how to be smooth you trickle so unfickle through the fortunate mass and your students take a lesson ‘n what it means to have class you are the schooner of cool turbulent seas are a tease as you maintain the calm of a glass-surface pool girl, i love it when you hop you’re bouncing up and down like you won’t ever stop your thoughts are tied in knots that they could never undo and your words are stamped in concrete like a premature shoe you are the eight ball crusade a game that they think they are playing though they’re being played girl, i love the way you smell on the level you’re the devil and they’re going to hell your pitchfork fragrance like a vagrant daffodil has ‘em sniffin’ while they’re wishin’ that they’d written a will

Craigslist 03:47
You wanted a boxcar, I gave you a train You wanted discomfort, and I brought you pain Couldn’t see because that windshield spiderweb grew and when you left the premises, I thought that you knew I met you on Craigslist, connection was missed when we reconnected, you surely were pissed Landscapes they were flying by at rates yet unseen and every gosh-darn thought you think is flippin obscene Because I want it, so I can; I like to think I’m that kind of man If you’d stop thinking you’d understand That the things that you want are the things of your father But you don’t understand, no you don’t understand Turned on the light switch, the breaker had blown it would have been cheaper if we would have flown It’s been about three weeks since I last watered those plants and no one took the trash out, and now we’ve got ants The table unsturdy, the chair would collapse your skin was too oily, my lips were too chapped The only way to see the things that tangled our hair was to break the microscope a leave with a stare But I don’t want it, got no plan Don’t want to wander don’t want to land You never thought that you’d understand That the things that you want are as fluid as water The wake of your dreams are as real as they seem I don’t want it, got no plan Don’t want to wander don’t want to land You never thought that you’d understand That the things that you want are as fluid as water You cannot remember but you haven’t forgot her The wake of your dreams are as real as they seem Don’t want it dirty, don’t want it clean So you don’t understand, but you do what you can

I built a house on Mayberry Street Oh, isn’t it neat how we wave to each other Living alone, well, it doesn’t exist Your presence is missed And I love my brother The raintime and sunshine make prismagic phantograms In a headstand they look like a smile The “Who are you?”s answered by “Who I Am!”s Then a handshake, trading shoes for a mile People have heard now of Mayberry Street They’re arriving in fleets, seems that we’ve been discovered It’s growing larger than we could’ve wished; each act kindness has kissed Now mankind has discovered/time to make some new brothers Every friend’s at the party and there ain’t no foes There’s no want for departing or forgotten woes or unneeded clothes Of course we’ve all been down to Mayberry Street Oh, wasn’t it neat how we waved at each other A place where we all lent a hand to our bliss, moments oh so delicious Why can’t we have another? Yeah, well, maybe one more but I’m not ‘xactly sure If you think what you remember will probably be far better maybe than what the next time you will see then we can’t because it’d just be a bore The raintime and sunshine make prismagic phantograms In a headstand they look like a smile The “Who are you?”s answered by “Who I Am!”s Then a handshake, trading shoes for a mile If you breathe it in it will last for a while Oh well isn’t it neat, yeah it’s so super sweet Right down on Mayberry Street

The Actress 03:49
I can see by the way you look at me, what you’re thinking And I know by the look you show, all your smiling and winking I can tell what you’re trying to sell, when you’re dancing and drinking If they opened up your chest, They’d find your friend that’s best That hardest, coldest, glitteringest stone I can write it down, how you fool around, and what you’re making It’s in the books all those cunning looks that you’re faking With each exchange you rearrange what you’re taking Yeah it’s in your eyes, all those other guys you been breaking As an actress, you’re so smooth Your morals never move The end that justifies the means, your own Intermission’s got you wishin that they’d not go out for smokes You wonder if they’re coming back Your suspicion of attrition is not just an empty joke On my way out the door, you won’t see me no more, I’m skipping the second act

Dress So Red 05:03
Woman on a road in a dress so red She didn’t seem alive but she didn’t look dead The wind was whispering her song Stuck in my ear even though it’s so long She reached out as she sang about How warm and comfortable I’d be That notion seemed so sweet to me My eyelids fell, so strong her spell, my heartbeat slowed Swirling amber cooled by a cube so clear The glass began to tilt as my lips drew near That burn it soothes those aches so deep Top waters calm, raging storm underneath A second drink, it beckoned me To sit and sip and draw the fleece Impersonation made of peace That womb-like spell by morning fell, thoughts run away To stop is to be halted, burning until spent The only dollar I’ve got left is the one I was just lent Wildly circle ‘round that flame, another moth to lose the game forever chasing after something else because I can’t control myself All in, spare not one dime The wager’s in my favor every single time There’s not a game that I won’t play Every friend is an end, every night is a day The thrill of the deal, the spin of the wheel I’m floating ’til my next big break How long until those chances take The dice then fell, disaster spelled, creditors grim It’s a poison that you choose When you find your way to lose Four back at you one points at everything else The machine you fight’s your mind The man you fight’s the human kind All that’s left, an opponent truly yourself

kinda didn’t wanna know how that stuff is made but i know now and i don’t wanna change but i know now finding out is the start of the hard part try to lose that stuff i learned offset my guilt with loosely fitting thrift store shirts i’m keeping warm watching the others burn kinda didn’t wanna go but i couldn’t stay and somehow i know i gotta change certainty all around me crumbling to pieces somehow grounding into my surroundings
7.
A brick and window make it easy to believe Change is a thing of immediacy But millions of footsteps to gather salt left by the sea Turned tides to halt an empire’s fleet And so it goes; so shall it be Am I changing it - is it changing me? I’m dancing with reality (do-si-do, round ya go, catch a tiger by the toe) Embrace each taste that I get to lead (do-si-do, round ya go, catch a tiger by the toe) I’m dancing with reality (do-si-do, round ya go, catch a tiger by the toe) This time astride ephemerality Bends in a river windin’ wider over time Tumblin’ grains of the canyon it carves Fallin’ white quiet blankets an alpine town sublime Crashin’ avalanche wipes it clean as a scar Even the cosmos doesn’t know eternity At a simmer gettin’ dimmer ’til it’s outa heat So I’m steppin’ hot to feel that burnin’ beat If this dance is a chance, like a breath, well then I’m breathin’ deep …Finest line to ride Ain’t no wrong or right This time astride My dance with entropy
8.
We all stopped so quick that the dance got too thick, stacked in a sharp disarray  A reminder to be kinder, it don’t cost much; thank you for slowing so we can keep going on our way And you’re right there waiting for me, I’m gonna pass that charity I can see you respect how I feel, I wanna show that I agree    Amazed to see the pace of your life; how are the kids how is the wife? Hope you all get home safe tonight The maze you pick to weave and wind; it leaves a trace four miles behind, but it might not look so clever Every time that I’m riding in line, I notice some quirks that you got Sometimes you like to spy on my back-bumper style And then you flip out, and wanna skip out, but why? Yeah, I want to respect how you feel, I wanna see what you see I’ll look for ways to play to your rights; I won’t accelerate at brake lights And I’ll let you in front of me Now we’re moving as a fluid Polite to you if you would too It might just make somebody’s day Give them an easier way  Giving your time could be a life you save

Raindrop 04:08
If youth is just believing that there is a meaning, then I’m old And if tragedy over time turns to comedy, that jokes been told Weeping and laughing ain’t that far apart True pain and pleasure both beat from the heart, whatever that is Your love is my anchor Your weight keeps me free I’m a raindrop, you’re the sea Receiving reprieve, as it’s we If old age is just believing I understand my feelings, I’m a child When a frown turned upside keeps you spiraling, life is so wild Help me see what’s real Teach me how to feel I breathe free because of your faith in me It’s the only way I know I can see
10.
What could you have done? You’ve got enough time to think about All those wrongs you made right All those darks you made light
